Commercial contemporary blends the audience-focused showmanship of commercial dance and the powerful emotional expression of contemporary. In this 90-minute Int/Adv Commercial Contemporary class, explore how internal intention translates external communication through dynamic movement building towards choreography designed to elevate artistry.
This class is for intermediate to advanced dancers. To allow room for curiosity within movement, technique basics and classroom etiquette should come as second nature. Posture, alignment, positions, terminology, and strength are foundational in this class level and will not be taught but rather reviewed (and improved upon) when necessary.
Mosaic’s Int/Adv classes are a space for communicating not the how but the why of movement. Growth will look different for every dancer in this class and that’s the fun part. We’ll move together, refine together, stretch our limitations together, and build confidence in making creative choices. This is not a space for competition; it's a space to be challenged to grow from where you are as a dancer.
Appropriate footwear: Half-soles, socks, or ballet flats. Please reserve all dance shoes and sneakers for indoor use only.
