What are Mosaic Sessions?
Mosaic Academy of Performing Arts brings you Mosaic Sessions: a monthly dance event for adults. In 60-120 minute workshop style classes, dancers will cover technique, learn choreography, and have an overall good time.
For the brand-new adult dancer, the seasoned pro, and everyone in between, Mosaic is big on making space for dancers ages 16-99 to grow and shine. Join us monthly for Mosaic Sessions and weekly for our regularly scheduled classes.

APRIL SESSIONS
SATURDAY 4/25 | 5PM-6:30PM
Whitney. Aretha. Celine. The powerful notes of queens of the mic are enough to make you sway with their emotion. Lyrical, an expressive ballet-based movement form meant to emphasize the lyrics of a song, is a perfect medium for expressing those feels. Sharpen your lyrical technique and learn choreography to one of the iconic hits from musical divas. This 90-minute diva ballad lyrical class gives brand-new and seasoned dancers alike the chance to move to the powerful notes of queens like Celine and Whitney. Move to the sweeping melodies of iconic divas in Beginner Lyrical: Diva Ballads.
Appropriate footwear: Ballet flats, half-soles, or socks. Please reserve all dance shoes and sneakers for indoor use only.

Let’s get physical! There has never been an era quite like the 1980s. In this special edition of Dance Fitness, get stronger while flashing back to big hair, neon lights, and synth-heavy jams. Cycle between ab-blasting core exercises, strength-boosting mobility, and fun, approachable choreography designed to get your heart pumping all set to the sounds of the eighties. This class is perfect for anyone who loves to break it down like Just Dance and pump it up like Chris Evans before Captain America. Movers ages 16+ of all skill levels and dance experience levels are welcome. Come as you are. Leave a little sweatier.

You can’t stop the beat! Broadway Jazz lets you tell a story with style. In this special Hairspray Edition Broadway Jazz class, men and women dancers aged 16+ are invited to sharpen jazz technique and develop character portrayal and storytelling skills. Why take a chance when you get up and dance? Learn Hairspray-inspired choreography in this 90-minute workshop-style class. This open level class is available to dancers of all skill levels.
Appropriate footwear: fitness sneakers, dance sneakers, jazz shoes, or character shoes. Please reserve all dance shoes and sneakers for indoor use only.

SATURDAY 4/25 | 2PM-3:30PM
Dance is a powerful medium of purposeful communication. In this Int/Adv Contemporary Class, dancers will explore the freedom and expression of contemporary while pulling from the techniques of ballet, modern, and commercial dance. Class will be full of dynamic movement building towards choreography designed to elevate artistry. Develop your ability to intentionally connect with your movement in this 90-minute class.
This class is for intermediate to advanced dancers. To allow room for curiosity within movement, technique basics and classroom etiquette should come as second nature. Posture, alignment, positions, terminology, and strength are foundational in this class level and will not be taught but rather reviewed (and improved upon) when necessary.
Mosaic’s Int/Adv classes are a space for communicating not the how but the why of movement. Growth will look different for every dancer in this class and that’s the fun part. We’ll move together, refine together, stretch our limitations together, and build confidence in making creative choices. This is not a space for competition; it's a space to be challenged to grow from where you are as a dancer.

Mosaic Sessions are our monthly pop-up dance adventures: 60-120 minute workshops where you get to explore new styles, revisit old favorites, and more time and space to do what we love: dance!
Usually held the last Saturday of the month, these classes are not part of the weekly Mosaic class grind; Sessions stand alone.
We drop the lineup and rates at the beginning of each month. Keep an eye out, grab a spot, invite your friends, and come dance! Also, there may be snacks.

Mosaic exists for adult dancers to thrive in dance (and life), no matter where you’re starting. We’re invested in every piece of who you are. You’re not just a dancer, you’re a person. It’s in our DNA to remember that, and to encourage you to care well for yourself both in the studio and out.

YES! Whether you took a few years as a kid, danced pro, or taught dance, Mosaic is a space for you to keep growing.

Think: leggings, athletic shorts, fitted tees, tanks, or leotards - anything comfy enough to move in but fitted enough for your instructor to see whether or not your body is placed and moving correctly. Appropriate shoe wear is a big deal and varies from class to class. Check each class’s page for specific requirements.
